Aim of the event
This webinar provided attendees with a comprehensive overview over the European funding opportunities for industry, particularly SMEs, to collaborate with the academic sector.
This event aimed to support the UK’s industry sector to increase their innovative activities and boost their business objectives using European funding. In addition, guest speakers from industry shared their experiences to highlight the use of European funding in setting up business opportunities.
This event was organised by the NCP for the Research Infrastructures from the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and the UK NCPs for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and the European Research Council from the UK Research Office in Brussels.
Who should attend?
While this event is primarily tailored towards large business and SME leaders and employees, researchers and other staff in the UK and across Europe who are interested in working with partners from the non-academic sector in the UK are also encouraged to attend.
Programme outline
The UK National Contact Points (NCPs) gave short overviews over the funding opportunities in Pillar I of the Horizon Europe Programme, the EU’s flagship programme for research and innovation with a budget of €95.5 billion for the 2021-27 Calls.

Participants had the opportunity to listen to two guest speakers with successfully funded EU-funded research projects with businesses: Prof. Dr. Erich Griesmayer, Founder and CEO of CIVIDEC Instrumentation, and Dr. Cat Mora, Director of Research Operations, PhaseCraft.
