Aim of the event

This webinar provided attendees with a comprehensive overview over the participation of the non-academic sector in the 2022 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Staff Exchanges Call, which will close on 8 March 2023.

The MSCA Staff Exchanges scheme funds collaborative research and innovation projects which involve organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors (including SMEs) from across the globe. The Staff Exchanges promote international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility of research and innovation staff leading to the sharing of knowledge and best practices. The scheme is open to all subject areas and set out to foster a shared culture of research and innovation as well as to support creativity and entrepreneurship. The call supports researchers, technical, administrative, and managerial staff.

Who should attend?

This webinar is aimed at researchers and other staff in UK academic and non-academic organisations, including industry and funding organisations, who are interested in the 2022 MSCA Staff Exchange Call.

Programme outline

Dr. Branwen Hide, one of the two UK MSCA National Contact Points, outlined the UK Participation in Horizon Europe.

Subsequently, the following speakers presented:

  • Sandra Pinto Marques, Unit A3, European Research Executive Agency, gave a detailed overview over the participation for the non-academic sector can participate in the MSCA Staff Exchange.
  • Gavin McConvey from the charity Action Mental Health and Zoraida Callejas from the University of Granada, Spain, discussed their experiences with applying for and implementing their MSCA RISE project “Mental health monitoring through interactive conversations” (MENHIR).
  • Claire Griffin, the UK National Contact Point (NCP) for European Innovation Council (EIC) in Horizon Europe and Global Innovation Lead at Innovate UK, presented on how academia and industry could work together, including practical advice on how to start collaborations with the UK non-academic sector.

Subsequently, participants had the opportunity to ask questions in a dedicated Q&A session. UKRO thanks all participants for attending, and the speakers for their time and efforts.
