Funding opportunity

Funding opportunity: MSCA and Citizens 2022 Call

Apply on the EU portal

MSCA and Citizens funds public engagement activities to bring research and researchers closer to the public. Its flagship event is the European Researchers’ Night.

Who should apply

The European Researchers’ Night can be organised either by one single beneficiary or by several organisations constituting a partnership at regional, national or international level.

Typical participants include:

  • research organisations (public/private)
  • companies
  • public authorities
  • science museums
  • foundations
  • media organisations

How it works

Every year on the last Friday of September, the European Researchers’ Night makes science accessible to all. It involves activities which combine education with entertainment, such as:

  • exhibitions
  • hands-on experiments
  • science shows
  • games
  • competitions
  • quizzes

What is funded

The European Researchers’ Night provides funding to cover expenses linked to the organisation of the events, which last up to two days: they can start on Friday and continue the following day.

Pre-events and related post-events (such as wrap-up meetings or small-scale follow-up events) can also be organised.

How we can support you

We are the UK National Contact Point (NCP) for MSCA. You can email us for free information and advice.

You can attend our regular free events about MSCA calls. Every event is recorded, so you can catch up on the recordings too.

Additional support for UKRO subscribers

If your organisation subscribes to UKRO, we can provide additional support. Check if your organisation is a subscriber.

While we cannot read proposals and comment on them directly, we do have resources to help with proposal writing. Your UKRO European Advisor is available to advise on general questions about proposals.
