The COST association has published its annual report, listing highlights, successes and a digest of the events that took place under the programme in 2023.
The report highlights that in 2023, 522 applications for new COST Actions were submitted, from over 40 member countries: the highest number ever. In 2023, over 50,000 researchers were involved in ongoing COST actions.
In terms of UK participation, 334 UK organisations were involved in ongoing COST networks.
In his introductory remarks, Dr Ronald de Bruin, Director of the COST Association says “The COST Actions are fully back in force, with the launch of 70 new Actions and some 3,000 participants in our first Management Committee meetings. About 90% of these new Actions are interdisciplinary. It is with great pleasure that I look back on the highly successful 2023…The examples just mentioned are just a few of the many successes the COST Actions have achieved over the last year. All in all, I am very confident that COST will continue to be a leading example in the European Research Area”.
