Celebrating one year of association to Horizon Europe
DSIT and UKRI are hosting an in-person event on Tuesday 18 March at the Kia Oval in London, to celebrate the UK’s first year of association with Horizon Europe, showcasing achievements and bringing together stakeholders to share experiences and insights.
The event will feature a keynote address from Minister for Science Patrick Vallance (DSIT), as well as talks and panel discussions from Professor Christopher Smith (UKRI), Professor Christopher Johnson (DSIT), Cyril Robin-Champigneul (Delegation of the EU to the UK), Dr Nicola Eckersley-Waites (CBI), Dr Henriette van Eijl (European Commission, DG RTD) and others.
Aims and objectives of the event
This event aims to engage the broadest possible audience of researchers and innovators in Horizon Europe – whether new to the programme or a seasoned applicant.
The event will showcase the collaborative research and innovation from the UK’s longstanding relationship with the EU, celebrating our ongoing engagement with Horizon Europe despite the delay to association that has primed our successful continued participation over the last year.
The event will provide delegates with detailed information on the opportunities available as well as ample networking opportunities with National Contact Points and speakers. We hope that this event will equip delegates with a deep understanding of Horizon Europe and inspire delegates to engage fully with the available funding opportunities.
Who should attend?
We are inviting the broadest Research and Innovation (R&I) audience possible, across higher education institutions, industry and business sectors, across all remits and disciplines and sizes of organisation. We also want to engage leaders responsible for strategic research development from universities, institutes, businesses and industry. For example, can include roles such as CEOs, CTOs, Directors of Research, Heads of Research Development, Head of EU Funding or similar roles.
