The Department of Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is looking for best practice examples of interplay between research funded nationally and under Horizon Europe.
UK researchers and research staff are invited to provide brief feedback by 16 December 2024 for the following case studies:
- Domestically funded R&I project/investments, which went on to receive follow-up funding under the Horizon funding scheme (Horizon Europe or Horizon 2020);
- Horizon-funded projects or research activities which went on to receive national or other international funding or investment to support the growth and commercialisation of their research results.

Experiences from all research disciplines, sectors and from all career stages are welcome.

Case studies
If you would like to provide a case study, we kindly ask you to follow the structure below
- Name of the PI on the grant;
- Name of the institution on the grant;
- Research area;
- Funding period;
- Collaborators and host countries (if applicable) for both schemes;
- Names of the domestic and Horizon Europe funding scheme;
- Funding received from both the domestic and Horizon Europe funding schemes;
- Outcomes, patents and publications from both funding schemes;
- Approach to applying to Horizon Europe funding following the use of domestic funding; or Approach to applying to other funding sources for commercialisation of results;
- Challenges encountered;
- Any other Feedback;
- Contact Email in case of follow-up questions.

All information received will be treated confidentially, not shared with any third parties, and used by DSIT only for the purpose of this exercise.
