The ERC Starting Grants 2025 call closed for applications on 15 October 2024.
These are the preliminary data on submitted proposals:
- The ERC received 3928 applications, marking a 13% increase compared to the previous call.
- The highest number of applications came from the Physical Sciences and Engineering domain with 1660 submissions (42%) followed by Social Sciences and Humanities with 1187 submissions (30%), and Life Sciences with 1081 submissions (28%).
- Women submitted 40% of proposals, which is consistent with the submission rates from the previous two Starting Grants calls.
